FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF OUR AFL CAMPS?
The aim of our AFL Camp is to teach players of all abilities how to develop and perfect the movements and performance skills specifically related to Australian Rules Football. That is why we try to create a structured and highly organised training and learning environment for AFL players aged 6-13 years. Our coaching team are qualified and experienced coaches and players. Through the use of drills, game scenarios and engaging coaching activities, our AFL camps attempt to build, refine and improve techniques and skills of all participants to enable them to become very capable and confident players.
WHAT HAPPENS AT AFL CAMP?
STEP 1. PLAYERS PLACED INTO TEAMS
The AFL camps we offer are day camps with no overnight stay. In other words, think of AFL camp as a typical day at school. For example, the coaching team greets players and parents during the morning drop off. Based on information provided by parents and our internal procedures, we place children into groups based on age and ability. Where possible, children are grouped with friends and siblings.
STEP 2. DELIVERY OF THE COACHING AND LEARNING PROGRAM
The coaching program is implemented in a way where children rotate through specific skill stations. Meal and drink breaks are afforded to all players like they would receive during a school day. For instance, players get a recess and lunch break at camp.
STEP 3. FEEDBACK AND PLAYER RECOGNITION
At the end of each day of camp, players reflect on their learning. On the final day of camp, coaches issue awards to high performing players as well as a player report to provide children and parents feedback around player performance, skill development, and attitudes.

The team at Super Sports Camps run a very well planned and coordinated AFL coaching program for our players at Concord Giants AFL club. We value Luke and his coaching team because they provide a fantastic service in the school holidays for kids and parents at our club. We look forward to working with Super Sports Camps next AFL season.
Thanks for the amazing AFL Camp. Ava loved it. She gave me a twenty-minute crash course on “techniques” and whether or not the footy was a pot of gold. She had a tremendous time with your coaches and enjoyed making friends with other children she’d never met before the AFL Camp.
When my kids came home from their AFLCamp and I ask them about their day, instead of replying with the expected “it was good mum,” they instead rattle off all the great new skills they’ve learned! The boys also get a report to take home which shows their ability and progression levels which is fantastic.
Sophia and Olivia said that they had an awesome time and are looking forward to going next school holidays.
Well organised, parents well informed and any questions answered promptly. Luke was very good with the class, and is a great role model and leader.
